I don’t think I would ever have seen this movie if it wasn’t for free. The title didn’t bound me, so to speak. I would most likely never have chosen it based on the title and the fact it is a 18th Century costume film. It is in the spirit of London and Jack the Ripper style. It is a film about an artist that paints a special painting of a young man in his 20’s. We don’t get to know much about the man. He is beautiful. He loves a women, but is lured to think that sex, and a “rock’n’roll” life style is better than living in love. The man who lures him into thinking life is about pleasure creates the “new” Dorian Gray in a sense. We get to see this mans life in the beginning and the end of his life journey. The painting in this movie is magical and the painter has painted his soul.
I think I will give the movie 2 out of 5 stars. It was okay as evening entertainment.
On YouTube we find a bad quality version with Spanish subtitles of the film for free. At least at this date. Enjoy!
The old film was gone, but I found another one.
