White Russian – Swedish diplomatic relationship crises escalates

The relationship between White Russia and Sweden is still strained. The whole crises started with a teddy bear peaceful action according to media. The affair has then escalated with the embassies closing, diplomates exiled and so on. Now a Swedish Internet site has been blocked in White Russia, according to DN.se.

White Russia – Sweden affair continues

In todays newspaper Aftonbladet.se we can read about how the White Russia government wants the responsibles for the teddy bear attack to come for investigations to White Russia. However the PR company has now replayed that The president is very much Welcome to visit them instead, in Skåne, Sweden. 

I think that is a much better idea. The White Russia government can visit Sweden instead, that is much safer than the other way around for the PR company.

White Russia – Sweden relationship even more strained now

According to SVT text-TV today the White Russia (Belarus) and Swedish strained relationship has escalated. In the text-TV I read that White Russia is closing their ambassy in Stockholm. They also are said “to put all blame on Swedens actions”.

I am just wondering what actions? Individual people´s actions? What has Sweden done? Nothing. Sweden hasn´t done anything. So why are White Russia so, should I use the word, angry? We are a country of individuals. After all this is also “seen” in politics. I don´t agree upon the rulers on many things, but in a democracy I have to accept that the majority wants the ones on the top to rule. That is how it works, majority chooses. So I think that each and everyone should be judged only on each and everyones actions.

However I am just thinking that this strained relationship is just sad. It all has been said to start (read my earlier articles, they contain sources to original source) with a teddy bear action. White Russia believes that our state is somehow paying people in White Russia to educate in activities hostile to White Russias government in ruling. However I have a hard time believing that Sweden ever would. I believe that is just paranoia, like some articles in the news channels earlier have suggested.

I am just wondering why this conflict escalates all the time. Was it not enough that the Swedish ambassador in White Russia was exiled? No, now the ambassy closes. Oh mine. I just scratch my head.

Usually when a relationship is strained its due to communication problems, cultural differences or personal chemistry. The two parties are to much different in some cases and cannot meet in the middle on the same level. This is what diplomacy is usally about. Meeting in the middle, taking and giving some.

For all the besserwissers out there – White Russia can be used in a everyday language. For those that want to can however use the modern English term Belarus. I however prefer the other and therefor use it and I do not consider changing it.

Update: The ruler in White Russia believes that the Swedish government was involvd in the teddy bear action and demands answers according to DN.se.

The Americans have said they support any actions from European countries that want to support freedom of speach and human rights in White Russia, according to DN.se.

Swedish-White Russia relationship is strained

In todays SVD.se we can read that the relationship between Sweden and White Russia is strained. The Swedish ambassador has been expelled from the country we can also read.

I happen to believe that usually when a relationship is constrained is often due to lack of proper communication. Things like this can depend on a lot of things. It can be person chemistry, different views on culture and paranoia etcetera. However trying to fix bad communication can be diffucult, not impossible, but difficult. Sometimes it can be easier to change persons, that is the easy way out and there is a risk that nothing has been solved by doing that.

Continued reading of the article says that the media controlled by the state in White Russia has been humiliating the ambassador, as well as Sweden has been accused of financing rebels. Oh mine, I scratch my head. I believe that is paranoia. We wouldn´t fund such things. Well, I guess that when a paranoid state believes something they want others in their country to do the same. I just wish they would understand that it isn´t so.

In Sweden we believe in democracy and try to get others hope on the democratic route too. But that ain´t wrong, asking for the populations oppinion. Only a currupt state can be afraid of the people, all others have nothing to fear.

According the name White Russia, it´s usable, even though it´s old version, however in Sweden we call the country Vitryssland, so for me White Russia sounds better, a choice free for me to make. Others say Belarus.

Teddy bear attack from the sky has changed the political billboard in White Russia

Some weeks ago a PR company made a teddy bear action. The persons behind it wanted to enocurage freedom of speach in White Russia, according to Expressen.se

Now the politicians in power have started to switch ministers, probably due to the teddy bear attack, according to Expressen.se.

Not maybe the wanted action, but at least it has steared up some movement.
