This week I draw a female in panties

This time I draw a young beautiful women with black panties on. For real, not digital. I have now drawn an old man  and an old women nude. It was a totally different to draw a women in her 20′s. Everything was just perfect and she had a glow over herself, so the drawing class was just wonderful. I was thinking why do not models look like her, a healthy normal girl with charisma. She wasn’t skinny, she wasn’t fat. She had a full figure and looked healthy. I am wondering why models do not look like her? The superskinny girls make me feel bad. But this girl, shorter than a model would be a joy to see on advertisements. Why do not companies just use regular girls and boys in all shapes and sizes? She was more beautiful than any skinny model with spagetthi-legs.

I think the fashion industry must start to have regular girls and boys, both short, tall, medium, slim, curvy, full-size and plus-size so on. The models should reflect the society. I felt like I wanted to paint an acrylic painting with her as a model. It would be a beautiful painting. However i just sketch fast drawings in class.

I was in the subway system and one add on the wall caught my attention

I was standing there on the plattform one morning. There isn´t much to do when waiting for the subway train to arrive. Usually I look at the walls. Often the walls contain adds or art. This time the walls contained adds from NK. NK is a collection of stores in a high end galleria in the middle of Stockholm. I however do not go there other than to buy perfume in the basement floor… that is mostly since they have the products I am buying. I don´t have a choice so to speak, well if I don´t wanna buy a gift that is enjoyed then of course I can buy something else…

Well, when I was standing there I looked at the different adds. The concept was to “get a new you”. The images where artistic and I do not believe anyone actually would dress like the concept in the images. However people do buy the pieces that the young women where using. And the focus was on pieces in the adds. One piece in each add was lifted up with headers like “Skirt from Nude” 1000 SEK, or similair. One of the products was a west from a designer label. It cost something between 29 000-30 000SEK. I was thinking who buys a leppard west for more than a average month salery? Hmm…

I don´t know who of the people on the plattform would pay that for a west… I was wondering if a person that does buy something expensive like that really travels with subway? Then would they take the cycle or walk? Hmm.. Would they even work? It´s difficult to have a car if you live in the inner parts of the city. So maybe they do have this public in the subway system…. but then who earns so much money that they can …. waist… that much money on a west? Hmmm. Well in Sweden a average income is like 23000 SEK and that is before taxes. Remove taxes around 31% in Stockholm area from that. So this means that the amount the person would have to pay is for a average income in Sweden about 1,5 month salery. So I am guessing not to many actually can buy it.

So how is this advertisement agency, where the majority cannot afford the item, thinking? I think that it will be “copied” by HM or some other retailer and then the girls and boys can dress the part without having the original high end labels. After all, everyday in Metro (a free “newspaper” available at the subway stations) we can see tips how to dress like celebrities for smaller amounts of money.

It won´t take to much time before the clothes are copied if they now happen to be in fashion or get in fashion.

So even if people won´t buy the clothes featured in the adds in the subway, the adds will effect the public. We will consider it fashion much due to the price… I am guessing. Expensive = celebs favourites perhaps? I do not know if its so they are thinking, but even if they do not think it the price gives status to the garment. Status is admired in this twisted world. Therefor people will be effected. The adds will have a impact on how the girls in Stockholm are going to dress.

Fashion shows if you are the inn people or not. Thanking God for classic clothes, no need to stay in fashion that way…. and allways be dressed right. Not saying I am not dressing in fashion… I don´t care if I am or not. I just dress as I please. Sometimes it just happens to be in fashion… Sometimes all my clothes are worn out at a certain time and the stores only offer fashion clothes… then it´s fashion… Vintage would be an option if they where available in all sizes, but they never seem to have. I love vintage, beeing both unique and saving the world at the same time. I love it.

Waist of space

I have been to the mall. I have consumed. Tried to anyway. I stoped by a café and ate some nice ice cream. I just enjoyed spending time on my own, knowing only my partner and animals are at home. Thanks for that. Freetime. No musts on the agenda. In the stores they are having summer sales. They are selling all summer clothes now to half price or even less. For the ones with smaller pockets sale is an option. However finding the right sizes on sale isn´t easy.

Imagine how much clothes that probably isn´t sold… I wonder what they do with that – etanol? Make etanol for renewable energy cars? I havent´t got a clue. Otherwise they might burn them and then we get hot water for the bathrooms and kitchens as well as heating for the houses. That is how waist is handled here in Sweden. The best would be if the stores didn´t have waiste, but that won´t happen until we have a standard in clothing sizes and can order on demand. Clothes that fit allways the same no matter what. There will be some waiste even then, clothes get out of fashion and the body changes and sometimes you regret the purshase.

Well… I wish they would have a better way of handling the to big stocks, so they didn´t need to throw away any clothes. Some comanies give to goodwill. I know some that do that. They end up in second hand stores, even though they are new.

Smart artist wants to change our body ideals

Using art as a form av statement is something that has been done for a long time. In todays NT.se we can read about a artist that started a project in hope to change the body ideals. She is going to show 100 sculptures on how different the female body can be. Her long term goal is that body ideals will go away.

I like when artist have new ideas of how to change a society problem, in this case body ideals. I have studied this phenomena and the body ideal is nice tits, small waist and slim bodies for women and six pack stomach on men. For those that do not know what a body ideal is: Body ideals are the ones portrayed in media and fashion. Body ideals are what people come to think of as normal, even though they are not. It´s because these ideals are portrayed in media all the time. The more you see something, the more normal you think it is. The average women in Sweden isn´t tall and slim. She is a steady bite of women and only around 167cm tall (it was last time i checked, it might have changed, feel free correct me if you want, I didn´t have time to look it up).

Art is one method of trying to change society and make it to a better place. I also do art, but not on this blog.

Skinny models still rule the world

I am going to talk about fashion. Yes I am. But not for to long or to much, I don´t wanna bore you all to much. So what have I to say about fashion? Fashion has historically been a way to control the public. Why? Well, in Sweden we had all these laws that said what to wear and what not to wear. A lot of stuff was only for the royals and nobility. Different clothes for different classes. We don´t have these legislations since the 20th century but still we can differentiate us from different classes if we want. If you have just enough money you can buy your self away from HM clothes and other retailers and go to the high end with Armani and other designer clothes.

So today I was reading the news (Expressen.se), like a usually try to. I read that HM is going to use a pop singer in their adds. Oh, so? I had never heard the girls name, so I had to check it out. I listened to some of her songs, one I even knew from the radio.

I especially thought of her songs as a little bit wierd and her music videos didn´t make them feel any less wierder. Well, one of the songs is called National Anthem. I posted it below. You can click your way forward from there. Anyway, the music video has taken the Kennedy-lifestyle and adapted on a black and white family. It feels like Kennedy-Obama-mix. Well, what do you think? What does the pop singer wanna say with this video? Adapt an idea in to the listener? What idea is that? I allready know what I am thinking, I just want you to think by yourself. Find critic within your own self.

Well, I am wondering how come a HM company has chosen her to present them? I guess they have listened to her songs and so. I imagine that anyway. I guess her name might get more known after such a campain. What do you think? Fashion has a strong power factor over the young teenagers and adults.

Even though they choose an pop singer and not a traditional model, she is still skinny… and she also happens to look the part – as a model. So I don’t think HM has stepped out of any safe zone with her as a poster model.

Blogger convicted for making critic on images of a fashion photographer

In Sweden a blogger has been convicted to pay fine to a fashion photographer according to DN.se. The blogger took images of images. Then he analysed the images and he gave negative critic from a gender perspective, according to DN.se. I wonder if the photographer would have minded if the images had gotten positive critic instead? I believe not.

In school, at the university, we are allowed to use images and analyze them in our work. But we usually do not need to show the images however, in essays or so. We can give the source instead. But in order to enlight the world I do think we need to be able to show the images directly on the Internet, giving credit to the company or photographer of course. Allways naming the source of course. I do this on my other blog all the time.

I also analyse images on the Internet and wanna continue doing so. I do hope legislation allows this. How are we otherwise supposted to use freedom of the written word to change the bad fashion photographers, fashion writers and fashion stores narrow perpective of women? We must have models and poses that we can reflect opon. We need to have a talk out in the open of how fashion is presented to our youth and adult.

Maybe it´s enough to write a text and describe a image, but how would fashion blogs show i.e. show the latest fashion, if they did not make collages of images of fashion for instance? In these cases I hardly see the companies going after them, mostly the blogs are focusing on purshase, but not all the time. But in fact they all seem to be illegal now that this blogger has been convicted.

I like blog functions where you can post the original photo, where it is on the Internet on its original source, so you do not have to use a photo of the photo. That function is only available on blogspot, Googles tool and wordpress but no all blog portals unfortunately.

Well, he needs help now, to pay the high fine.

The blogger in this case was “Genusfotografen“, according to DN.se (see source from article below).
