Baby got cut in the head and arm during delivery

I am sad to having to read that a small baby, during a caesarean, was both cut in the head and arm. I mean… wasn’t it supposed to be the mother that was cut? Oh mine, what sloppiness. What a crew delivering that baby. I do not want any women to meet such sloppiness at the hospital in a country like Sweden. It is a joke.

The little girl cannot still move her arm normally. Perhaps she now has a lifelong disability. Also hair doesn’t grow in the spot were she got the cut in the head. All this in todays Expressen.se.

Imagine if the doctor had cut the babies throat? And killed the baby. I would have considered it murder during delivery. But I happen to think the doctor wouldn’t even get a warning for that. Can doctors in Sweden do as they please?

I think the girl should get a lot of money for the injuries. The doctor should pay the money. Surely the doctors hospital must have a insurance company covering such? I don’t think the girl will get any if people do not react.

Why hasn’t the little girl been put in contact with micro surgeons, the best in the world? After all some nerves must have been cut…

Just wondering.

My reply to doctors that want to read all medical records of their patients

Today there is a thing called “Sammanhållen journalföring”. This is a thing that makes medical records available over institutions, even cities and regions in Sweden. However the patient must agree to “Sammanhållen journalföring” in order for their doctors to be able to read the medical records. However it is always dependent on that the person that has access to the medical records does what its supposed to do. With this I am saying anyone with access rights to the system and the patients medical record can in fact read the medical records if they want. The system is not designed to keep people out, it gives a warning to the person that has access that it shouldn’t read it but the person can then read it if it really wants. Why this is? Well so that doctors in medical emergencies can give the best of care to the patients.

In todays SVD.se some of the doctors in Linköping are complaining that one colleague has been accused of entering illegally. However the doctor had some kind of doctor-patient-relationship and he was free from charges. However now the doctors want the doctors always to be allowed to read patient records. I say NO, NO, NO. There is no need for a doctor to read about visits to a psychologist, nor the gynecologist or any other patient confidential record. The pussy has nothing to do with health issues in other parts of the body, i.e. a cold. If a patient regularly goes to the psychologist in order to just talk, it has nothing to do with the patient having a broken leg from when falling on the ice. So I am saying no. If the doctor wants to read more, it simply has to ask the patient for permission. It is possible to get permission from the patient to access other medical records. The patients of Sweden should not be even more violated by doctors or any other authorities. Just saying. So therefore the Patientdatalagen should not be changed. I say to the doctors of the article in SVD.se there is not need for all doctors to read everything. Patients are people with integrity, let us preserve humanities one thing – integrity. By keeping the law as is the doctors have to always seek permission. This is completely right. Keep it so. PDL is fine as it is.  (PDL = Patientdatalagen = Patient medical records law).

Sammanhållen journalföring should always be impossible without patient consent. Always forbidden. A doctor in other parts of Sweden has no right entering a patient record. If this would be possible anyone could tap into the record of any person in Sweden. That is just not right. So I do not want any doctors to have more rights. I want the patient to have all the rights on the patients side.

Bad doctors are causing pain to patients

When a patient clearly is in pain some doctors don´t seem to belive in the patients and do not send them to investigations. A women in Sweden had to experience that her doctor just gave her pain killer and told her to loose weight when she had pain and a lump in the cheast, according to NT.se. Since so many months passed, even though she had seeked doctors three times, her tumour grew. Finally she was in so much pain so she was admitted to a hospital and not until then she was investigated. Three doctors appointments and no investigations. Now the cancer had spread and she got cancer in more places, according to the article in NT.se. She could have gotten treatment much earlier if the doctor would have investigated her as the doctor should have from the beginning

I hope that doctors understand that one test to many is better then none. Better safe than sorry. When money rules however, then doctors are reluctant to make additional tests. Instead people have to end up even more sick, sometimes even dead.

Artificial heart inside a man since 4 months ago

A man that had a fast growing tumour in his heart had to choose an ordinary option, remove his hart and replace it with a artifical pump (heart). This is the second time such a heart replacement surgery has taken place. The first man died from his disease within a month.

The only thing different is that he is missing his pulse the man on DN.se says. The operation took place in Czech Republic, all information above in this article is from DN.se.

I think it´s cool that we now have this option. The man will live with this artificial heart until there is a human one available. I wonder how many artifical parts we are going to be able to have in the future? When does the soul leave our body? Where is the soul located? Not in the heart… since this man has been living with the pump for 4 months.

How many parts can be replaced before we are like the “borg”? The borg are a species from a sci-fi series named Star Trek. They are enhanced by technology and parts of fully functioning bodies are replaced by artificial body parts. Not that much different really, except the assimilation…

This is why I am against turning off the respirator

Reading articles about people for organ doning scares me. I know people make mistakes and hospitals do so to. Sometimes I think that the hospitals are to eager to shut down life support. I think people should be given a chance to live. After all there are cases of people beeing in the respirator for years, even tens of years and then they wake up. If people even have a chance they should be given that chance, if they haven´t said once in life that they do not want to. All others we cannot know, since they haven´t said what they wanted.

A organ donation should be only on dead doners, not living if they cannot continue to stay alive of course. Today it´s possible to donate half a liver and one kidney if you got two.

Well in todays Expressen.se we could read about a young women involvd in a car crash that was beein prepped for organ donation. During the prep she woke up. Imagine having your organs stolen like that. Imagine doctors giving up on you even though you are not dead. Cruel. That is why quality assurance in all occupations is so very important. Everything was filmed on top of this…

The women wasn´t brain dead and the doctors didn´t even check if she was, according to Expressen.se. This should not be possible! And I think that there should be time ellapsed from a accident and care giving. Everyone should be given a chance to wake up. Every life counts. Your body is yours as long as you are alive. We must be able to trust the hospitals… in this case something did go wrong.

If people weren´t in a hurry then there would be checklists and more quality assurance everywhere.
